Mudar Alhaggi

Mudar Alhaggi, geboren 1981, studierte Theaterwissenschaften in Damaskus. Alhaggi arbeitet als Autor und Dramaturg, schreibt für Radio und Fernsehen, verfasst Filmdrehbücher und leitet Schreibworkshops. Er schreibt Theaterstücke, inszenierte «Footfalls» von Samuel Beckett und «One Thousand and One Tents», das in einem Workshop mit Geflüchteten im Libanon entstand. 2013 wurde die Produktion «now t-here», an der er als Autor und Regisseur in Zusammenarbeit mit Stella Cristofolini beteiligt war, in Oberhausen und Berlin aufgeführt. Seit 2015 leitet er im Libanon mit Erik Altorfer «Future Stages. A Creative Programme for Emerging Syrian Writers». 2015 und 2016 entwickelte er mit Kopp/Nauer/Praxmarer/Vittinghoff das Stück «41 Stunden», eine Koproduktion mit dem Schlachthaus Theater Bern. Im Juni 2016 präsentierte er zusammen mit Erik Altorfer eine Arbeit mit jugendlichen Geflüchteten und jungen Grazer:innen am Schauspielhaus Graz. Mudar Alhaggi lebt seit Sommer 2015 in Berlin und ist seit 2017 in der künstlerischen Leitung des Collective Ma’louba.

 

Mudar Alhaggi, born 1981, studied theatre studies at The Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damaskus. Alhaggi works as an author and dramaturg, he writes for the radio and TV, pens scripts and leads writing workshops for refugees. He staged «Footfalls» by Samuel Beckett and the production «One Thousand and One Tents», which was developed in a workshop with refugees in Lebanon. In 2013 the production «now t-here», in which he was involved as author and director (in collaboration with Stella Cristofolini) was presented in Oberhausen and Berlin. Since 2015 he manages «Future Stages. A Creative Programme for Emerging Syrian Writers» in Lebanon together with Erik Altorfer. In 2015 and 2016 he developed «41 Stunden» with Kopp/Nauer/Praxmarer/Vittinghoff, a coproduction with Schlachthaus Theater Bern. With Erik Altorfer, he presented another work with adolescent refugees and young people from Graz at Schauspielhaus Graz. Mudar Alhaggi lives in Berlin since summer 2015. Since 2017 he is artistic director of Collective Ma’louba.
