Mohamad Al Rashi

Mohamad Al Rashi ist Absolvent des Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damaskus und lebt heute in Marseille. Er begann seine berufliche Laufbahn als Schauspieler am Nationaltheater und gründete 2009 zusammen mit Oussama Ghanam das Damascus Theatre Lab. Er spielte in dem Stück «While I was Waiting» von Mohammad Al Attar unter der Regie von Omar Abusaada. Das Stück wurde 2016 auf dem Festival von Avignon aufgeführt und hatte anschliessend Gastspiele in Brüssel, Lausanne, Neapel, Zürich, Paris, Genf, Japan, den USA und Australien. Mohamad Al Rashi arbeitet regelmässig mit dem Collective Ma'louba zusammen und wirkte in «Your Love Is Fire» (2017), «Days in the Sun» (2018) und «The Return of Danton» (2021) mit. Bei «Up There» (2022) führte er gemeinsam mit Wael Kadour Regie. Er ist in vielen Filmen zu sehen, darunter der preisgekrönte Film «Green Border» von Agnieszka Holland.

 

 

Mohamad Al Rashi graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus and is now based in Marseille. He began his professional life as an actor at the National Theatre and co-founded the Damascus Theatre Lab with Oussama Ghanam in 2009. He performed in «While I was Waiting» by Mohammad Al Attar, directed by Omar Abusaada, which toured to Avignon Festival in 2016 then Brussels, Lausanne, Naples, Zurich, Paris, Geneva, Japan, USA, and Australia. Mohamad Al Rashi is a regular collaborator with Collective Ma’louba, performing in «Your Love Is Fire» (2017), «Days in the Sun» (2018) and «The Return of Danton» (2021). He co-directed «Up There» with Wael Kadour in 2022. He features in many films including award-winning «Green Border» by Agnieszka Holland.
